School Report Card
Letter from the Principal
Hello Marvin Mustangs!
Marvin Elementary is a growing school with a passion for leading students to engaging opportunities for success. We are very proud to announce that Marvin Elementary School earned a School Performance Grade of an "A" from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction! This grade is based on our 2024-2025 North Carolina End of Grade testing results for our students in grades 3-5. Additionally, our students Exceeded their Expected Growth on these tests! This is a tremendous accomplishment for our school, and it is the highest rating a school can receive based on the End of Grade testing. This reflects the teamwork and collegiality of our staff as we work towards our school mission of "Preparing All Students to Succeed."
During the 2025-26 school year, our goal is to reach students at their level and to push them further than they thought possible. We will do this through defined Professional Learning Community processes and protocols, differentiated instruction, and distributive leadership.
The 2025-26 school year marks the 23rd year of our school! As part of our school's re-branding, we are focusing on four main areas. These areas represent our shared TEAM vision, which includes the following: tapping into our students' talents and abilities, engaging with our community, acting with confidence, and maximizing our potential. We have implemented the Leader in Me platform at our school, and we are excited to see our students grow as leaders and learners!
Marvin Elementary School operates under the three core tenants of the UCPS EmpowerEd education model: Connect, Collaborate, and Create. By connecting students with the resources and information they need, we believe we can facilitate collaboration between peers and leaders that will enable our students to create pathways to knowledge, understanding, and innovation. We are also implementing the Leader in Me at our school, and we are very excited to see our students grow as leaders and learners!
As the school's leader, it is my passion to see this generation become the global leaders that will produce real results in this ever-changing world. Together, with the amazing staff that has been assembled at Marvin Elementary School, we will strive every day to create an environment that is challenging, supportive, and welcoming for our students.
Go Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Dr. Scott Spencer
